Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us for our next meeting on February 18th. Our presence at the cincinnati Hunting & Game Show was well received. We signed up several new members to our Safar Club Chapter. At this month's meeting we have the "New Member" drawing for a Wetherby Rifle.
So come out to meet our new members and listen to guest speaker Tom Diets of Outdoor Fishing Adventures. Hope to see you there.
New Members must be in present to win. It is not too late to bring a friend and sign them up. New members can sign up for an intorducroty rate at the meeting and have their name included in the drawing.
Jerry & Kelli Cutter are putting together a Blue Bag display board. They are desperately in need of pictures from blue bag events. Send your pictures to the Reporter or bring them to the next monthly meeting.
The Stohlman family at Meadowcrest Farms in Ripley, Ohio has invited our women members and guests to a Red Stag “Hind” Hunt for this fall 2009-(a hind is a female deer). They have a beautiful fa- cility with log cabin accommodations. The price of the hunt would be $650 which includes $400 for the Red Deer Hind Trophy fee and field prep (you keep the hide and meat), as well as the $250 for 2 nights lodging, meals, drinks and hunting fees. This is Carl Johannas' Mule Deer from Santa Rosa Island, California. What a great shot with a 300 Winchester Magnum from about 100yrds straight down a hill. A special thanks to his long time partner Mark Metzger for a great spot and stalk. Truly a hunt to remember.
The Fall Social was a huge sucess! The social was held at Stohlman's Meadowcrest Farms in Ripley, OH. Activites enjoyed included a challenging trap shooting course, Red Deer farm tours, and stories and jokes told by the campfire. A smorgasbord of food was served including salads, vegatables and grilled pork. A good time was had by all. We are attempting to hold several other events such as this throughout the year.
